Lanvin continues to develop by building on its roots and its history. In 1964, Lanvin was the first perfume house to launch a men's fragrance based on vetiver. By the early 1990s, Lanvin Vetyver had disappeared from the marketplace. Today, in the tradition of Lanvin perfumes, Lena Pierotti, director of marketing and development for Lanvin, has joined forces with Francois Robert, a 'nose' at Synarome, to develop a more modern reading of this raw material. The vetiver note of the original fragrance has been modernised, giving it a freshness and warmth. The alliance of lemon, bergamot, sweet lime and juniper berry set a fresh and vibrant tone. The top notes are enhanced by the presence of bitter orange, white jasmine and the spicier middle notes of thyme, nutmeg and allspice. The composition is characterised by vetiverol, a speciality of the Synarome laboratory. Vetiverol is an extract derived from the most delicate essences of vetiver. Woody base notes of sandalwood and cedar underpin the fragrance. Amber and musk notes ensure that the fragrance has a sensual and masculine foundation. It is important to note that, of the 14 raw materials used, 10 are all-natural products. The use of natural alcohol allows the essences used in Lanvin Vetyver to express themselves to the full.
